Who Should Apply to Swiss Semester
Swiss Semester may be right for you if you are
- interested in pushing yourself academically, physically, and socially
- adventuresome and courageous enough to be challenged and to confront the unfamiliar
- energetic enough for a full, active, and very fast-paced life
- mature enough for a program that presumes responsibility and trustworthiness
- curious and open to broadened perspectives and horizons
- fond of the outdoors and the prospect of a lot of hiking, climbing, and skiing.
Who Should Not Apply
Swiss Semester is not for everyone; it is NOT
- "camp Switzerland"
- a cultural immersion program, although there is a great deal of exposure to foreign cultures
- a foreign language program, although there is considerable opportunity to use other languages
- an outward-bound program, although elements of such a program are present
- a ski program, although students do a great deal of skiing at all levels
- a travel program, although a lot of traveling is done.
