Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.

What an opportunity….If only Swiss Semester had existed when I was a high school sophomore!

A Note

Reflection

Each evening after dinner, as the students settle down for study hall and the faculty are in their classrooms working with students on a one-to-one basis, I overhear the enthusiasm for the day’s adventures—those in the classroom and in the mountains. I reflect upon my activity of that day and recall the excited conversations about the spectacular scenery, a particular academic class, a new friendship, and the satisfaction and fulfillment of reaching the destination. The energy, enthusiasm, and pride are all palpable and rewarding. I am very fortunate to be a part of the Swiss Semester family doing what I am doing and sharing it with our wonderful students and faculty.

Growth

It is gratifying to see students from all over the United States (and sometimes the world) encourage each other as the challenges become more arduous. It is also special to see the students maintain close friendships after the program as they spend time visiting each other. I am always amazed at what sophomores in high school are capable of given the appropriate challenges and the encouragement to overcome them. Swiss Semester has very high expectations of its students and faculty and almost without exception those expectations are met and often exceeded.

A Unique Challenge

Swiss Semester attracts students and faculty who are interested in stretching their minds and bodies in ways not easily replicated in most school settings. It can be intimidating to try something new, but the Swiss Semester experience is always invigorating and rewarding. I am confident that you would find your Swiss Semester experience to be the same. I hope that you will consider becoming part of the Swiss Semester family in the fall.

Sincerely,

Kris Robbins (KR), Director
